NDLSC Opportunity Grant Program Matt Bailey, President mbailey@lawschooldems.org The National Democratic Law Students Council (www.lawschooldems.org) is pleased to announce the “Opportunity Grant Program” for the 2008 National Convention - Law Dems '08: Building to WIN! Through Opportunity Grants, we hope to foster a convention that reflects the regional, racial, ethnic, and religious diversity that makes the NDLSC a strong and vibrant organization. The Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to law students who otherwise would be unable to afford to attend the National Convention. We are asking for your help in financing this program. Our National Convention provides students with excellent opportunities for voting rights training and professional networking, and helps prepare them to become civic-minded lawyers. Your support of the Grants will allow us to ensure a diverse group of delegates this spring. May we count on your support for this vital program? A $500 “Donor” contribution allows us to reimburse travel and expenses for at least one and as many as three law students from diverse backgrounds who would otherwise be unable to attend due to prohibitive costs. A generous $1000 “Benefactor” contribution would mean more students will reap the benefits of attendance. We are encouraging firms to match attorneys’ individual contributions, and we hope you will consider giving. Finally, we welcome contributions at all levels as "Friends of Diversity" donations.
