He is also a candidate for state representative in the 17th district of Illinois. How awesome is it going to be to have a nerdfighter in elected office? <p> Daniel has been a community organizer for many years, and now he is prepared to leave his job as one of the most promising young mathematicians in the United States to work in government. Why? <p> Because Illinois ranks 49th in education spending per child. Daniel, who has taught math to high school and college students, knows the importance of changing that. <p> Because Daniel sees that we need to change the way we get ourselves around with better public transportation and higher fuel efficiency standards. <p> Because Daniel wants to make sure that there are no more people who are refused access to health insurance simply because they are sick. Daniel will lead the fight to pass legislation in Illinois ensuring that no working family will ever be one health crisis away from bankruptcy. <p> But unfortunately, running for political office is expensive.
