Taking on incumbent John “hair-do” Ensign®
Ensign was one of a handful of Senators to vote with Bush 100% of the time in 2004 [source].
Jack is the oldest son of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter and he’s a genuinely down-to-earth guy. He is going to spend a large amount of time travelling all over the state—even the rural counties of Nevada where Democrats don’t tend to fare well. He feels that his roots growing up in a small town will let him connect with these voters. He’s served in the Navy, worked on his Dad’s peanut farm and Presidential campaign. This seat could be the magic 6th seat needed for Democrats to take over the Senate in 2006!

Jill Derby is taking on Dean Heller for this heavily Republican open seat in Northern Nevada.
Derby is a Regent for the University and Community College System of Nevada. She has been endorsed by Montana Governor Schweitzer and Wesley Clark. She has the mainstream independent appeal needed in order to make a candidate successful in a Republican district.
