Jeff is the kind of leader who wants to build consensus and is more interested in good results than big headlines. As Speaker of the Oregon House, Jeff put his training, experience, and compassion to work for Oregon. Now it is time to send him to Washington D.C. to do the same for the entire country!
Under Jeff’s leadership the Oregon Legislature delivered the most effective and forward thinking policies seen in Oregon in a generation. He worked tirelessly towards universal healthcare for children in Oregon. He oversaw the creation of a Rainy Day fund for Oregon’s future. He has walked the walk and embodies the accessible and accountable government that we deserve. Our nation will benefit from the kind of common sense and common decency that Jeff brings to the legislative arena.
We’re so glad that Jeff and his wife, Mary (who is a nurse!) made the decision to jump in and challenge Gordon Smith. These two have a passion for caring for people, and our common causes; and that is what they now need from us, as we all undertake this endeavor for a better future.
