<pageblurb>Jim Martin has spent his entire life in service to our state and has dedicated his life to standing up against discrimination and for those in need. During the AIDS epidemic in the 1980's it was Jim who fought to bring Ryan White funding to Georgia and established the first planning council in the state to care for those in need. In 1983, the first piece of legislation Jim sponsored was a bill to overturn the state's discriminatory anti-gay sodomy statute. Georgia's LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities have known no greater ally than Jim Martin. In the United States Senate, Jim Martin will work to overturn Don't Ask Don't Tell, and fight to pass workplace equality, hate crimes, and relationship recognition legislation.</pageblurb>
