<pageblurb> She scored very well on our scorecard compared to the appalling grade of her Republican predecessor who is running again!

She voted against funding the Iraq occupation and refused to cosponsor legislation that could have been construed to be a naval blockade on Iran. She is considerably better on nuclear issues compared to her opponent who supported new nuclear weapons. The supper majority of her financial support comes from individuals and she refuses to take corporate or lobbyist PAC funds.

Peace Action PAC hired an organizer (an Iraq Veteran) to work in her grassroots campaign in this race where there are only a few points between the candidates. To keep this progressive vote in congress, Representative Shea-Porter needs your financial support, give it here.</pageblurb>

<pageblurb>Peace Action was a long-time supporter of the progressive leader, Senator Paul Wellstone who was a big supporter of Peace Action and our issues. Senator Wellstone would be angry to know that the seat where he consistently scored 100% on our scorecard is now being occupied by Senator Coleman who scored ZERO last year!

You can help change that score.

Not only can Al Franken inject some much needed humor into the Senate, he will fight to bring our troops home, ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and have direct talks with Iran. Peace Action West has an organizer on the ground in Minnesota but Mr. Franken needs more money to prevail in this race where he has a slim three point lead. His opponent has millions more in his coffers, give generously to his campaign.</pageblurb>

<pageblurb>While Oregon will clearly go to Obama, the Senate race is neck and neck. Jeff Merkley opposed the Iraq occupation and will get our troops out of Iraq within a year. He opposes permanent U.S. bases in Iraq and will remove U.S. contractors as well. He opposes new nuclear weapons and will work towards a world free of them. Merkley supports direct diplomacy with Iran. His opponent has spent more than four times as much money. Help close that gap here.</pageblurb>
