State Senate President Pro Tempore Richard Romero has spent the past 35 years serving the people of New Mexico. Romero is battling Incumbent Republican Rep. Heather Wilson for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Whereas Wilson voted to limit the patients’ bill of rights and against campaign finance reform, Romero has gone to bat for progressive causes. A former educator, Richard Romero has prioritized legislation that mandates smaller classes. He has also been a champion of workers’ rights and has fought to protect the Otera Mesa from drilling.

Lois Murphy believes that the country is headed in the wrong direction. And she’s ready to go to Washington to turn things around. Murphy is running against Republican freshman incumbent Jim Gerlach, who won his seat by a slight margin of 51%-49%. Her support for public education and women’s rights has compelled her to take on this race. Murphy’s campaign is one of the best opportunities to win back a Republican House seat this election cycle.

The 6th District deserves the kind of representation that Patty Wetterling has to offer. Volunteer with Wetterling’s campaign and you’ll be helping to defeat a Republican incumbent who has voted with President Bush 98 percent of the time.

By defeating incumbent Republican Rick Renzi—who won his seat with only 48% of the vote—Babbitt would bring the values of rural Arizona back to the U.S. House of Representatives.
