Our 2008 campaign has opened doors for the Democratic party in South Dakota. We have learned that with lots of hard work and a little money we can accomplish great things. We were reminded from the results that we face a long road to build our support, but we also learned that our issues are West River issues... and if we can both listen well and be proactive we can build support and succeed here.

Now we set our sights on 2010. With more Democratic House seats in Pierre, and strong support for our 2010 Democratic candidate for governor, Democrats will not only be able to move our state forward by helping everyone do better: we will have an opportunity to redraw District boundaries in a way that will help keep our state on track toward the future.

But this won't happen without a solid, organized Democratic Party in Pennington County. After the campaigns of 2006 and 2008, we know how to do this: lots of hard work and smart tactics. But we also have learned that we need to be serious and pro-active and in it for the long term. This can only happen with a stable financial base that allows us to have a long-term presence outside of the election cycle.

That's where this project comes in.

If 100 of us give only $10 per month, (the cost of a few fancy coffee drinks!) the Pennington County Democratic Party will have the funds to support our current office holders and support new candidates in 2010. A strong West River Democratic organization can get going right now to build on our success in 2008.

Please consider joining us at $10 or more a month.

If we join together, Yes, we can!
