Dear Supporter,
It has been almost a year since I ran a difficult race against a congresswoman that still fails to represent the interests of New Mexicans, particularly in her unwavering support of Bush’s unconscionable war. Although, I did not win the campaign, it was one of the closest races in this state’s history. Since we carried Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, the challenge weakened her, and set the stage for one of our fine Democratic candidates to defeat her in ’08.
My race was extended two weeks past Election Day due to the closeness of the race and the difficulty of counting the ballots. My campaign was required to maintain our office and a large staff to make sure that your vote was counted. These young staffers worked long hours into the night for two extra weeks.
This difficult circumstance resulted in significant and unexpected campaign debt. I am proud to say that the debt is down to about $12,000.00, and I am attempting to finish this fundraising task, but I need your help.
Please consider making a $100, $50, $25, $10 donation toward my campaign debt.
This is a separate after-election fundraising cycle, so even if you maxed out in the general election, you can legally give another contribution. The contribution limits per individual is $2,100. A donation of $100, $50, $25, or $10 will really help me.
