BlogPAC has lead the online campaign to Save Social Security. We de-bunked the “crisis” myth, now is the time to escalate. With the privatization debate as complex as it is, we must clarify those issues that we can. The identities and motives of the people and entities pushing for privatization is an important place to start – we will struggle to win this battle if we can’t impugn the integrity of our opponents. Fortunately, their integrity is eminently impugnable, provided we can pierce the veil of secrecy and get others to follow our lead. We need your support to compile a report on all the various conservative advocates and advocacy organizations working for privatization, document the reasons they’re selling privatization, unmask their funding sources, and identify the role they are playing in the conservative machine. Some of this information has been reported in the mainstream press, but we need to compile it, synthesize it, and augment it with original research (particularly into contributions) where we can. A report will provide three benefits: earned media, rhetorical ammunition, and opportunities for further investigation, particularly into administration interrelationships with the conservative advocacy networks.
