People keep asking me who to support in this crucial election.

Very well, here's you're one stop shop for Joe Burns' recommendations.

Oh, and by the way: give while you're thinking of it; these things are over before you know it, and early money is worth much more than late.

2008 looks to be the rarest of elections: a repeat wave. We Democrats have a unique opportunity to give Barack Obama a true working majority in both houses, giving his agenda the support needed for an uncompromised enactment.

President

There has not been in my adult life a candidate of a major party dedicated to the idea of change.

I am proud of my party to have nominated this man of intelligence education and vision, so sorely needed in Washington today. I expect to be prouder still come November 4th. Make it so.

Darcy is now polling ahead for the first time! We can do this thing.

..

Darcy is a netroots favorite who has some real momentum going behind her this time after nearly taking it in '06.

This Mac fan easily forgives her for being a former Microsoft exec.!

We came within 3% in this red district in '06, and that was before corrupt incumbent Rep. Doolittle decided not to run again.

Charlie is a good match for his district, a retired Air Force Colonel in a Red part of the state. Help flip this one Blue!

Charlie is polling ahead, 46-41%. We've got more than a shot here now, let's do it.

Once more! Gary is running for Dick Cheney's old seat in the House. Netroots support took this race to a dead heat in '06, with Trauner trailing by only a 1,012 votes. It's a dead heat again, with an open seat this time. Let's push him over the top this time.

Rick Noriega

TX-Sen (Map)

Rick is a reserve officer who served in Afghanistan and on the US/Mexico border who has clear perspectives on the War and immigration. His bid to replace John Cornyn is attracting national attention. Defeating Cornyn would be like the US Hockey Team winning in '80. That bozo has voted with Bush more often than anyone (maybe Orrin Hatch, heh) and really needs to pay the price. Speaking of which, a Senate race in Texas is expensive, so if we're going to have a shot at this, be generous. Cornyn is polling at 50%, so while it would be better if we were ahead, a wave election like this one with strong Obama "coattails" could push this one over.

OMG Al Franken!!

But seriously folks, we need a guy like Al Franken in the Senate. Not only does he call the Republicans on their lies, his whole stock in trade is about nailing them to the wall. I don't know about you, but it's very reassuring to me when a candidate has no advantage to gain by triangulating or waffling.

Incumbent Saxby Chambliss won in 2002 using the most despicable attacks on Senator Max Cleland. This is not 2002, but we remember. Chambliss leads, but within the MOE and under 50%. Help Jim give Georgia a Senator to be proud of.

When Republican Senate Majority leader Bill Frist campaign for Minority leader Daschle's opponent, it was unprecedented in Senate history. Now we have the opportunity to show Republican Minority leader Mitch McConnell the door. McConnell is polling around 50%, the magic number incumbents need to be secure. Push him over the edge.

Not as liberal as I am, to be sure, but this seat is one of our most vulnerable. Some of you know I have personal reasons for wanting this seat to remain Blue, but all you need to know about the Senate in '08 is "filibuster-proof majority." Before Katrina, Mary was a voice in the wilderness advocating for levee funding and repair, so often ignored but now prophetic. Republicans post-Katrina have engaged in morbid gloating over the changed demographics and the advantage they get from it. They must eat those words. Keep Mary in the US Senate.

Good news: Mary is polling well over 50%!
