Henry Sheinkopf, a political strategist who helped engineer Bill Clinton’s re-election campaignin 1996, has highlighted Michigan as one of four MUST WIN states for the Democrats in 2008 and, pretty much, in any year. Michigan IS working-class America and is the constituency that the Democrats should be most dedicated to.
This Act Blue page aims to build the working class grassroots in Michigan to help the Democrats, help Michigan and help America.

This seat is currently held by Tim Walberg®. Tim Walberg is a vulnerable Republican freshman who beat an unknown Democratic opponent in 2006 50% to 46% despite having outspent her 25 to 1. He is high on the list of targets prepared by the DCCC. A VERY key race.

MI-09 Democratic Nominee Fund 2008

MI-09 (Map)

Joe Knollenberg has been a reliable vote rubber-stamp vote for George W. Bush’s policies. In the November 2006 election we came closer than ever to unseating Joe Knollenberg. Our biggest shortcoming was the money required to run a copetitive campaign. We aim to change that in 2008.2008 is going to be the year the we retire Joe Knollenberg® from Michigan’s 9th Congressional district. Joe said he would only serve two terms when he took office, well, he’s been in Congress for 7 terms. It’s time for Joe to retire, so we’re going to help him.
Your contribution will go to whoever the Democratic nominee is for the 2008 Congressional cycle and will help to fund a successful campaign to put a Democrat in Joe’s seat. The Democratic Campaign Committee has already targeted Joe Knollenberg and your contribution will convince them to support the nominee for this seat.
