Our political system is awash in big money from powerful special interests. Voters are disgusted and turned off by the corruption that big money intrusion in politics brings. Many have given up voting entirely.
We can turn this sad situation around by enacting Proposition 89, which allows voluntary publicly funded election campaigns in California. It’s modeled on the system that’s working well in Arizona and Maine, where ordinary citizens can run for office without having to take a penny of special interest money.
If you don’t live in California, why should you care? Because as California goes, so goes the nation. This is fundamental and deep political reform, tried and enthusiastically supported in states and cities around the country.
Why do we need your support? Because the big money interests are funding the opposition campaign, and they have lots more money than we do.
