For the first time in a generation, a viable democrat is running for congress in Jacksonville.


Jay McGovern is a Iraq Vet, an Annapolis grad, and a fiscal conservative.


The Perfect Storm

Obama's campaign has put a full staff on the ground -- another first for Jacksonville. If the primaries are any indication, African American turn out will be staggering this year. Couple this with with McCain's relatively tepid support in North Florida, and 2008 is shaping up to be the only chance we'll ever have to elect a democrat to the House.


The Problem

Ander spent 1.2 million last cycle and it will cost Jay atleast a half a million dollars to introduce himself to everyone in Jacksonville.
