Democrats need to fight back harder. That means stating some hard truths. And it means doing some risky things. I’ll keep updating this page with Democrats on all levels doing that. Send me email at kevin@ie.suberic.net with the names of folks fitting that bill.
The list so far:

  • November 2007: Donna Edwards running for Congress in MD-4
  • October 2007: Rep. Pete Stark for inciting wingnut hand-wringing.
  • October 2007: Sen. Chris Dodd has promised to fillibuster to protect our rights.

November 2007: A bit of fun here. Donna Edwards has spoken up for net neutrality and invoked lolcats (youtube video) in doing so. She’s running in the primary against bad Democrat Al Wynn. So support a better Democrat and reward some good AND fun behaviour!

October 2007: Pete Stark has been attacked by the right for stating the obvious about Iraq and SCHIP. Matt Stoller has the background story on an amazing guy.

President

October 2007: Chris Dodd is a Senator running for President. There are quite a few of them this cycle, but Dodd has been one of the few showing real leadership. We need to see more of that.
I’m not sure I support him for President, but we need people to fix the FISA bill and he’s drawn a line in the sand and said he’ll fillibuster anything with telecom immunity in it.
