Ryan's Take: Candidates Who Deserve Your Money

by Ryan Adams

All the candidates on this page are true progressives. They believe in a strong democracy where money doesn't buy races. They believe in clean government where lobbyists don't buy policy. They're almost always right on the issues and offer voters hope.

While each candidate deserves money, I've ordered them according to who I feel needs it the most - based on their issues, the importance of their electoral victory, how much more support they need to win and by candidates who will get the most impact through any donations that come through this page.

Phil Dunkelbarger

MA-09 (Map)

There are lots of reasons to support Phil Dunkelbarger. Unlike the incumbent, he's pro-choice and against the war in Iraq. Furthermore, his opponent - Representative Steven Lynch - has a mixed environmental record and even supported Republicans in keeping Terry Schiavo on her lifeline. Sound like a person who supports Massachusetts's 9th Congressional District? I didn't think so. The fact that Representative Lynch has the audacity to call himself a Democrat should be enough alone to send him home. Lastly, while Rep. Lynch has a million in the bank, Dunkelbarger has vowed not to buy the election: he's placed a strong cap of $50,000 dollars for the election - but he needs your money to get there.

Ned Lamont is a great candidate challenging Joe Lieberman, who has become a Rubber Stamp former Democrat. Lieberman is all about Lieberman - heck, his new party is called the Lieberman for Connecticut Party. Lieberman has run one of the most deceptive campaigns I've ever seen and deserves to be thrown out of office quick.

Furthermore, Ned Lamont is truly a great choice for Senator. He'll get our troops home and cares about issues that matter, such as education. Most of all, he'll never bow down to anyone - never mind President Bush.

She's a tough Democrat running against a Rubber Stamp Republican. This is one of the best pick-up opportunities in the House and a race we probably need to win to gain control.

Here's a more local race that's proving to be a great pick-up opportunity against another Rubber Stamp.

He's a vet who says what he means and means what he says. He's exactly the type of candidate Democrats want in our "Big Tent." He won't Rubber Stamp President Bush's every policy - and he'd replace one of the most vile Republicans in office. Senator George "Macaca" Allen is a national disgrace and needs to be gone.

Again, another somewhat local race with a candidate who's challenging a Rubber Stamper. It's time all this Connecticut Republicans are forced to retire.

He's being added to my list because if he wins he'll knock out the House Republican's #3 man - Congressman Reynolds. That's the same Congressman Reynolds that allowed Mark Foley to solicit minors for years - and then tried to stop the press from asking questions by holding a press conference filled with dozens of children.
