I’ve spent quite a bit of time talking about issues and strategy with Bill McCamley and I am very impressed with him. He’s a real straight shooter. He did not beat around the bush with any of the questions I asked him, even when he knew the answer probably was not exactly what I wanted to hear. He is the best candidate we have had in this district in the 15 years I’ve lived here. And when I say best I mean two things by that basically:

1) He really strikes me as a good person who will work hard on behalf of his constituents.

2) He understands what it will take to get elected in this district and he is working hard to achieve it.

I believe that supporting Bill McCamley in the 2008 election is the best shot we have at getting a decent Representative in Congress. Let’s face it, while Teague is rich, he’s a machine candidate who gave the MAXIMUM amount of dollars allowed by law to Steve Pearce! Anyone who gives the maximum donation to a complete scumbag like Steve Pearce is NOT someone I want representing me.

Teague may win. He’s a multi-millionaire who makes money from the oil industry and he is trying to buy this election with his riches. He refuses to debate McCamley because he knows with absolute certainty that anyone who sees him debate McCamley will vote for McCamley. That’s why Teague did not show up for the local electoral forum in Silver City, that’s why he won’t debate. Sadly, the state of affairs in America today is that Teague MAY be able to buy this election by running far more TV ads than Bill McCamley can afford to watch. But I hope the people of New Mexico are not fooled by Teague, a rich opportunist who supports Steve Pearce and all the harm he has done to New Mexico.

I’m not rich. I live in a 700 square foot yurt on an organic farm in Gila. I have never given this kind of money to politicians before. The way I see it is that this is our chance to have a good representative. I’ve been here 15 years and I don’t think anyone near as good as McCamley has run for this seat. McCamley can win. If we wins the Primary on Tuesday, June 3, he has a very good chance to win national office.

For the first time in more than 20 years, there is a good chance that southern New Mexico will send a Democrat to Congress. But do you want a Democrat in Name Only (DINO) like Teague, who funds a guy like Steve Pearce? Or do you want a people powered candidate like Bill McCamley? Chances are, whoever wins the Democratic primary will get a great deal of support from the Washington based Democratic Conngressional Campaign Committee and have a fighting chance to win this seat. Please join me in supporting Bill McCamley!
