<blurb>Instead of giving us a widely acclaimed candidate that the whole party could get behind, the quaintly patch-worked primary process yielded an even split of electorate, a delegate deadlock..

Instead of waiting for the convening of the delegates, premature declarations were made at the behest of the party elders, thereby producing a 'presumptive nominee' before the delegates have voted actually.

Fear of a roll call or possible floor fight has led some party leaders to rush toward a false notion of unity. Such a premature conlusion could turn out to be a fools' paradise.

Millions of voters are disenchanted with the Democratic Party. A large proportion of these, several millions, will stray or bolt forever. Sadly, such dissent is being foolishly ignored or, smugly overlooked.

Wisdom must prevail at all levels of the party's leadership.
AN OPEN CONVENTION IS NOT ONLLY IN THE BEST DEMOCRATIC TRADITION, IT ALSO BEST GUARANTEES UNITY IN THE LONG RUN

Delegates should meet openly and vote openly on the floor.
Democrats should chose to expand the party, to grow, rather than shrink, or 'realign'. If the party fails to uphold this ideal of inclusive openness, where will large segments of the existing disaffected go?

For the sake of a truly united party, the gathering in Denver should feature:

Open convention,
Place HIllary Clinton's name in nomination,,
A roll call of the states,
Speeches by Clinton supporters,
No scripting or coronation.

The Denver Group is dedicated to keeping the Democratic Party democratic.

After all, are we not legatees of the great words of Woodrow Wilson,
'Open covenants, openly arrived at?
