This sponsor opportunity offers a private reception with Secretary Bowen featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inside the stately mansion, followed by dining in the garden. Sponsors will receive reserved seating in the garden or an opportunity to be seated with Secretary Bowen at her table. California Secretary of State Debra Bowen is among this year’s recipients of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, cited for her imposition of strict new controls on electronic voting despite the political fallout. John F. Kennedy Library Foundation president Caroline Kennedy and U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., presented Debra Bowen with the award at a ceremony on May 12th, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. The Profile in Courage Award is the most prestigious award in the nation for an elected public servant. We are using this special occasion to raise funds for the Democratic Central Committee and the Central Valley Democratic Club. Please be generous as a portion of the funds from this event will be used to support the campaigns of local, regional and national candidates in the 2008 election. Funds will also provide outreach support to area student democratic clubs, helping students become actively engaged in their government.
