In Georgia on December 2, voters will decide the runoff between Democrat Jim Martin and Republican Saxby Chambliss.

You probably remember Saxby Chambliss. In 2002, he beat Vietnam Veteran and then Democratic Senator Max Cleland with a hateful campaign that included an ad morphing Max’s face into Osama bin Laden’s.

This race neck and neck, but historically, voter turnout is lower in runoff elections. Let’s continue to put an end to negative campaign attacks based on lies and falsified guilt by association. We can drive home Obama’s victory against Rovian campaign politics by supporting a campaign on the issues instead of lies.
