I am writing to ask for your support for his candidacy. Tony is one of the most remarkable leaders that I know. A graduate of West Point who served two tours in Iraq, Tony was awarded the Bronze star for meritorious service. Born and raised in the 10th District by a single mother, Tony overcame numerous hardships-- such as the the lack of health care until he was 18-- to reach his dream of a quality education and the chance to serve his country as an Army officer. After his service in Iraq, Tony received his graduate degree from Harvard's Kennedy School. During his second year at the Kennedy School, Tony reached the conclusion that he could no longer serve in silence under the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Despite his distinguished service, Tony was honorably discharged. Tony is now using the same courage and conviction he has always shown to serve his community and run an exceptional race for Congress. Believe me when I say that Tony is the real deal. I believe he represents the best that this generation has to offer, and will provide a unique and valuable voice in Washington.
