Take Back the Assembly Peter Rickman rickman.peter@gmail.com We are three seats from a Democratic majority in the State Assembly. After years of out out-of-touch Republican "leadership" and obstruction on Wisconsin's progressive priorities, we have the opportunity to see a governing Democratic majority in our state. Instead of tax breaks for the rich and big corporations, we can work for tax fairness. Instead of the status quo on healthcare, we can achieve meaningful reform that guarantees the right of healtchare to all Wisconsinites. Instead of defunding public education, we can re-commit to having the nation's finest education system from pre-K through the universities. Instead of divisive and unproductive "debates" on abortion, guns, and gays, we can actually make real progress in this state - and guarantee reproductive freedom, respect for civil liberties, and equality for all. This list could go on for pages... You don't need to hear what the difference would be with a Democratic majority - we just need to build the support necessary for winning candidates. We have Democrats running in 91 of the 99 Assembly districts and there are 15-20 seats that are held by Republicans that should be in the hands of Democrats.
