Take Back The House In 2008

by John Hart

Here are some congressional candidates you might think are worth supporting. All of them have a real chance to win in the November election. However, the Republican Party is pouring money into these campaigns, and the Democrats need cash to get their stories out to the voters. Please consider making a contribution to any of the individuals you think are worthy. All of the money goes directly to the candidate.

This race is a toss-up. The incumbent Republican has dropped out to run for Governor, so it is an open seat. This is a great chance for the Democrats to pick up a seat. Mr. Braley is a moderate who will serve the people of Iowa well (see his web site)

This election has ended.

This is a critical race. Congresswoman Bean won this seat in a heavily Republican district in 2004 from incumbent Phil Crane. Now the Republicans have targeted this race as their best chance to unseat an incumbent Democrat. They have found a very wealthy, ultra-conservative candidate who is a strong supporter of George Bush.

Mr. Seals is a University of Chicago grad running on a progressive platform in a race that is currently a toss-up. The district leans Democrat, and the incumbent is a Bush robot. This is a good spot to pick up a seat for the Democrats.

This race is leaning Republican – the incumbent has run a sleazy race and should be kicked out. Mr. Murphy is a veteran with progressive views, including a strong record on education and the environment. Please check out his web page (and the strong endorsement from President Clinton)
