Its time for the American people to stand up and reclaim America!
The truth is that our country is adrift, being steered in a direction that only leads us to the stagnant waters of moral and fiscal decay. There have only been a few times in this countrys history when the peoples faith in their leadership has sunk this low.
Our standing in the world has also plummeted to an all-time low.
The moral leadership of this administration has been brought into question because it seems to be riddled with corruption to the highest levels of government.
The fiscal responsibility of this government is only an illusion. Our national debt has risen almost one TRILLION dollars a year for every year this administration has been in office. We are borrowing two billion dollars a day, mostly from foreign governments to pay for the credit Mr. Bush and the Republican Congress have extended themselves.
Our armed forces have been degraded by an unnecessary war in Iraq that was initiated on the basis of lies and misinformation. And over 2,500 of our sons and daughters have given their lives for a war that was a mistake.
When I returned to my home in East Tennessee after two combat tours of duty in Vietnam, I just wanted to live in peace and quiet far from the chaos of death and brutality that had become all too familiar in war. I avoided the limelight and controversy at all costs; I now understand that none of us has that luxury.
Please stand up with me today to take back our country. Please join with me to restore American leadership in the world. Please join with me to make the American government responsive to the needs of the people.
