  <blurb>Senator Al Franken (DFL-MN) recently authored an amendment to stop the disgusting practice of government contractors (such as KBR/Halliburton)  from forcing employees into signing arbitration clauses that require them to waive their civil and judicial rights even in cases where they&amp;#39;re victims of criminal violations including rape, assault and kidnapping.

Here, he explains the inspiration for his amendment--the revolting case of Jamie Lee Jones, who was gang-raped by KBR employees, locked in a shipping container for days by her superiors, and then prevented from seeking redress in a court of law due to the arbitration clause she had signed:

I wanted to find a way to thank Sen. Franken for introducing his amendment to prevent this from happening again, and discovered that his Recount Fund is *still* in the hole, months after he finally took office. Let&amp;#39;s give him a hand!</blurb>
