Charlie has run a terrific campaign in 2006 and came very close to beating longterm incumbent John Doolittle in this heavily Republican district. His candidacy, however, proved that a Democrat can win here.
Charlie has recently announced his intention to run again in 2008. As Doolittle's ethical problems are not going away this is a prime target for Democrats in 2008.
