<blurb>Stonewall Democrats and the Virginia Young Democrats are the first on the ground in Virginia with paid staff and volunteers for this year's critically important statewide and house of delegates races.

Stonewall Democrats United and Virginia Young Democrats have drawn up smart plans for strategic action across the state. With the largest field program in the state, our paid field staff are working to identify and turnout pro-equality voters from Arlington to Charlottesville and from Norfolk to Blacksburg. We've hired local Virginians who know their communities and who are trusted in their communities to engage friends, family members and neighbors in this election.

Your contribution of $100, $50, or $35 dollars will help us put these critical organizers in place early enough to make a difference.

If you're not from Virginia, why should these elections matter to you?
1. You care about the national progressive agenda. The outcome of this year’s election in Virginia will have serious consequences for President Obama’s agenda and the Democratic Party’s prospects for the 2010 cycle. This year's elections in Virginia are, in part, a referendum on President Obama and his agenda for our country. Losses in Virginia can only slow down the important reforms that Obama is working to push through the Congress. Furthermore, Virginia is considered a bellwether state. Off-year elections in Virginia help set the tone and determine which party has the momentum going into the mid-term elections.

2. You want strong progressive leadership in this swing state to turn it a deeper shade of blue and to control redistricting.The outcome of the battle for control of the House of Delegates will determine whether Democrats will have full control of the redistricting process in the state. Democrats are down only 6 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates. If Democrats hold the Governor's mansion and win control of the House, then they will run the table on redistricting in the state. With several congressional seats at stake the outcome of these races have national implications for control of Congress.

Please contribute $100, $50, or whatever you can to support the important work our field organizers are doing to turn out pro-equality voters in Virgina.

</blurb>
