  <title>Senators Who Don't Suck</title>

  <blurb>I&amp;#39;ve done my best to gather a list of candidates for Senate that are in close races, and whose politics are pretty consistently progressive. Socially liberal fiscal conservative don&amp;#39;t interest me, nor vice versa.
&lt;p&gt;
My goal is to fill the Senate with Democrats, not mislabeled Republicans that vote for bad stuff. It can be hard to pin these politicians&amp;#39; positions down, but hopefully I&amp;#39;ve weeded out the elephant grass.&lt;/p&gt;</blurb>

      <pageblurb>Jeanne Shaheen the dancing machine is maybe a few tiny points up in the race right now, and her record shows mostly pretty good politics.</pageblurb>

      <pageblurb>It would feel real good to be rid of Ted Stevens. Beggy here is a little more conservative than I&amp;apos;d like; he want&amp;apos;s to open up ANWR, I guess. But for a dude from AK he&amp;apos;s really not bad, and mostly seems to do the right thing. His lead over Tube Series is shrinking, so he might need a good push.</pageblurb>

      <pageblurb>So far I haven&amp;apos;t been able to get a real close fix on this particular Udall&amp;apos;s progressiveness (his whole family, practically, is running for something), so I&amp;apos;m giving the benefit of the doubt here until I can get a better read. Meanwhile he&amp;apos;s several points up, so while this isn&amp;apos;t the best race to support in my view, it&amp;apos;s still a good one.</pageblurb>

      <pageblurb>Although about 10 points out right now, Tom&amp;apos;s voting record is solid, to the extent that he pretty much stuck to the party line on the Washington Post&amp;apos;s &amp;quot;key votes&amp;quot;. That&amp;apos;s usually a good thing. Hopefully this race is not a lost cause.</pageblurb>
