Under George W. Bush, the Supreme Court has veered sharply to the right, threatening the rights and liberties that Americans hold dear. If not for the support of far-right and “moderate” Senators, Bush’s nominees to the Court - Samuel Alito and John Roberts - could have been blocked.

Taking back the Supreme Court will be a long process, but the 2008 elections are our best opportunity to stop the erosion and build for the future.

Jeanne Shaheen lost a close race for this senate seat in 2002. Instead, the election went to John Sununu, who has supported far-right jurists at every turn. Shaheen will support fair minded judges and help defend our constitutional rights and liberties.
