Dennis Kucinich is a man of courage.
He is the only presidential canididate that has voted against the War in Iraq and the funding of the War in Iraq since day 1. He is the only person who to date has a plan in ending the war and bringing our troops home.
He wants to create a Department of Peace.
He wants to establish Universal Heathcare. That would be Enhanced Medicare for everyone.
He wants to implement a drug policy that removes responsible recreational users and medical users of marijuana from the criminal justice system.
He wants to create universal pre-kindergarten. This would be a voluntary program for all children ages 3 to 5 years of age. It would be free of charge and available to all families who choose to participate. This would be a great program to prepare children for school.
He also supports providing tuition-free higher education to millions of students in state universities. Education is the only solution proven to reduce poverty levels. If an individual has a bachelor's degree, the average yearly wage is $30,730, nearly three times as much as the $11,432 that non-degree employees earn. A college degree translates to a living-wage job that allows people to live self-sufficiently and move from welfare programs for good.
He also supports Instant Runoff Voting. This reform would ask the voter to rank the candidates in order of preference. Instant Runoff Voting has many benefits including giving voters a wider range of choices, eliminating the spoiler factor with third-party candidates, saving taxpayer money, and decreasing negative campaigning.
