Preparing for Battle! (CO-04)

I believe that the voters who make up Colorado’s Forth Congressional District are ready for a change. Poll after poll shows dangerously shallow support for the incumbent, Marilyn Musgrave. The Democrat who will win in CO-04 will have a spotless personal and financial record; exhibit business sense; and understand the people who make up the district. In Betsy Markey, we have found that candidate.
Betsy Markey is the best candidate to defeat Marilyn Musgrave and turn this seat from Red to Blue. Betsy has an unblemished financial record, strong business credentials, solid knowledge of the people of CO-04, and extensive experience working with the federal government.
I know Betsy will be a leader in Congress where she will fight for the issues that will put America back on the right track. Her experience working with the people of CO-04 and the federal government will allow her to hit the ground running. Betsy is a personable, grounded, and dynamic leader who knows what it is to run a business and raise a family. These traits will serve her well in Congress as she fights for us all.
BTW, while Betsy worked for Sen. Salazar, she’s no clone. in fact, I believe that she is quite progressive. I’ve hosted Betsy at my home and at a neighborhood Meet & Greet, with a number of Democrats (One a 17 year regional director of ACLU and another a 5 term state house / 4 term state senate member). They asked some very direct questions, examining her views on civil rights / liberties, GLBT issues, immigration, and whether she had any skeletons in her closet. Betsy handled the questions in a thoughtful and sincere manner and impressed them all.
I believe that Betsy taking the job as Ken Salazar’s Northern and Eastern Regional director for the past 2 1/2 years, was a very astute move. The position allowed Betsy to get to know the people of CO-04 and their issues. Invaluable training for their next congresswoman.
BTW, While I’m supporting Betsy, I’m not in any way a part of her organization. I just really want to beat Musgrave and strongly believe that Betsy is the one to do it.
