John Yarmuth’s first term in Congress has been a model for what KY Democrats want out of their representatives. True leadership does not involve apologizing for or hiding from our progressive values. It requires standing up for them, speaking out for them, and defending them.

Yarmuth has not been afraid to speak his mind and stand up to the Bush Administration. He has stood on the House floor condemning Bush’s reckless Iraq policy, instead of condemning his own supporters with meaningless resolutions. Yarmuth has protected our Constitution, voting against expanding Bush and Cheney’s unchecked warrantless wiretapping powers on American citizens in their push to make a unitarian government.

John Yamuth has been standing up for us, so we must stand up for him. Contribute to his 2008 ActBlue fund to make sure that John holds onto his seat and continues to make us proud. Republicans will be sure to come at John with all they can muster in 2008, so let’s make sure that he has what he needs to fight back against them.
