Alright, great. We've got a Democratic House, Senate and Executive. And it looks like we might have saved Roe for another generation.

But is that all you want?

With huge majorities, legislative efforts that should be no-brainers - EFCA, single payer, aggressive cap and trade, banking reform, FISA, torture accountability... the list goes on and on and on - are being stalled, weakened or defeated outright.

And this is happening with Pelosi, Ried and Obama controlling each lever of government. There's a reason for this... big pharm, insurance, banksters, oil,gas and coal... all give a lot of dollars to Democrats. And as an institution, the Democratic Party just can't bring itself to give up that teat.

But you know what? We, collectively, give a lot of money too. And we don't have to give it to the people that smile, take the dough and then get back to studiously ignoring us.

On this page you'll find three innovative new organizations. AccountabilityNow wants to primary BlueDogs and other non-progressive Democrats. Primaries put the fear of God into the party and those in danger of being primaried. Just the threat of a primary can radically change behavior. Just ask Jane Harmon and Ellen Tauscher.

PCCC is concentrating on running progressive challengers in Republican districts. They are identifying online talent, grading consultants, looking at campaigns best practices and amassing infrastructure and institutional knowledge for the entire progressive movement. They are truly innovative and effective.

BlogPAC is near and dear to my heart. So much talent has arisen out of the progressive blogosphere. BlogPAC identifies that talent, funds activists and discreet projects and serves as a kind of nerve-center for tracking developments in the progressive on-line universe. They are agile and always ready to lend a hand to committed innovators.

Instead of sending money to the party or to a candidate that acts like they could care less about your $100, why not consider putting your money where it can do a fantastic amount of work? Help fund the new progressive infrastructure.

Thanks,

Mike Stark
