$19 Billion Raised: Built to Power Grassroots Movements

Since 2004, millions of small-dollar donors have turned ActBlue into a $19 billion force for change

The engagement from grassroots donors has been unlike any midterm cycle before it, and the numbers show it overwhelmingly. Last week, ActBlue hit a major milestone – $19 billion raised since our founding. We did it in spite of relentless partisan attacks and frivolous investigations driven by MAGA Republicans.

This milestone was reached just 163 days after crossing the $18 billion mark on December 15, 2025, nearly a month faster than it took to raise the previous billion. The movements powering these numbers are not slowing down, they are accelerating.

How the Callais Ruling Mobilized Small-Dollar Donors

There was no stretch of recent giving that illustrated donor engagement more than the week surrounding the Callais decision. As the Supreme Court handed down a decision that eliminated a majority-Black House district in Louisiana, and gave permission for state legislatures across the South to erase Black representation, donors responded loudly.

On April 29, the day the ruling came down, ActBlue raised $8.1 million, 45% above that month’s daily average. The following day, April 30, donors gave $11.6 million, 106% above average, making it the single biggest fundraising day of the quarter. With an average contribution size of $39 across both days, the numbers make clear that small-dollar donors are the lifeblood of our democracy.

In the weeks since April 29, we have raised approximately $190 million, with a significant portion coming in just hours after the Texas GOP Senate runoff results were finalized. Donors gave $10.4 million across campaigns and causes nationwide, making it the second-largest fundraising day of Q2 2026 thus far.

First-Time Donors Join the Fight

ActBlue’s journey to $19 billion was driven by both existing and first-time donors. May alone brought more than 171,000 new donors to the platform, joining nearly 1.4 million returning donors.

These new donors represent the durability of our grassroots fundraising platform and the movements it supports.

Investing in Grassroots Campaign Infrastructure

Reaching $19 billion is a milestone, but sustaining and building on that momentum remains our mission. ActBlue is investing in campaign fundraising tools that make grassroots giving more effective at every level. The same donors who powered this movement deserve a platform that keeps pace with their energy, and that’s exactly what we’re building. Raise is making running for office more accessible, Field Tools is reimagining the way campaigns organize on the ground, and Website Builder is transforming how local and state candidates can build a credible, conversion-ready online presence.

ActBlue did not reach $19 billion by luck. This is what two decades of Democratic campaign infrastructure built for the grassroots looks like.

Small-dollar donors have built this platform, and we are continuing to do the necessary work to keep serving them.

In this moment, small-dollar donations can make an enormous impact. Support organizations who are on the ground mobilizing for the causes you care about. (Example: Furious about the Supreme Court rolling back the Voting Rights Act? Consider contributing to: Color of Change, Black Voters Matter, or NAACP.)

Whatever your passion, you can find a campaign or cause to support on our Directory.

ActBlue is a safe and secure fundraising platform that enables millions of Americans to participate at a grassroots level in the most fundamental pillar of our society: elections. For 21 years, we’ve been a vital part of the infrastructure of our democracy.
